Winter Activities

With bright blue skies and towering snow-covered peaks, the French Alps in winter are arguably at their most impressive. An active holiday is the best way to really experience the majesty of this natural environment. From a hut-to-hut ski touring adventure, to a weekend’s snowshoeing in the Ecrins National Park and ice climbing to tandem paragliding, the hyper-active will be in their element.

Mountain Biking & Road Cycling

Mountain bikers can choose to explore the miles and miles of epic singletrack that criss-crosses the high mountains or spend time blasting the lift-accessed downhill and enduro tracks at Orcières Bike Park. Road cyclists can take on some of the legendary cols in the Southern Alps including Alpe D’Huez, Col du Galibier, Col d’Izoard.

Trekking & Mountaineering

If you are a passionate walker or climber and love the mountains, you’ll find it difficult to resist the lure of the big Alpine peaks of the Southern French Alps. With great weather, spectacular scenery and fewer people than more famous ranges further north, it’s the perfect place to experience the magic of mountaineering in the Alps.

Whitewater Rafting & Kayaking
