This award winning hostel should not be missed. Housed in a former Carmelite monastery in a hillside park of olive and pine trees, this is definitely one of the most amazing hostels in the world. Hillside retreat above Nice
It’s hard to believe that this hillside B&B is only a twenty minute drive from the Promenade d’Anglais in Nice. The views are stunning and the location above Nice means that there are plenty of nearby places to explore. Hosts Michael and Jean are very friendly and helpful and will give you great sightseeing tips. Delicious healthy continental breakfast with fresh fruit and yoghurt.

La Colline de Vence
Relax in the Mediterranean hills
After a day hiking, chill out in the peaceful hills behind Nice in this gorgeous 5 bedroom inn (chambre d’hote). It really seems like a million miles from the busy coast with bedrooms named Mimosas and Bougainvillea. Just a 15 minute walk down a path to the old town of Vence where you can grab some yummy breakfast in the old square before setting off for the day. Saint-Paul de Vence is perched on a hilltop just 5km away and definitely worth a visit.

La Jabotte, Antibes
Affordable gem on exclusive Cap d’Antibes
It’s hard to believe that those on a budget could stay on the exclusive peninsula of Cap d’Antibes, but this hotel is unbeatable and affordable! Cap d’Antibes is a leafy hideaway for millionaires including oligarch Roman Abramovitch. The hotel has 12 small charming rooms around a patio garden. There is a comfy lounge which doubles as an art gallery. Best of all, it is just 30 metres from the beach (a free one) and the historic town of Antibes is a 10 minute walk.
