Located at the foot of the 2645 m Col du Galibier in the southern region of the French Dauphiné Alps near Grenoble, Valloire is a pretty resort in a beautiful setting, which also happens to have some world-class mountain biking.

High speed, technical riding in a beautiful setting.
Resort may be too quiet for some.

Valloire Galibier has been developing its big bike mountain biking for over 10 years now. The bike park, which can be accessed via the 8-person cable-car and a 4-person chairlift, gets better and better every year. 17 trails provide 33 km of downhill and enduro riding, and with 7 red and 5 black trails, intermediate to advanced riders are particularly well catered for.
If you want to strike out beyond the bikepark and ride some freeride terrain, there are some great runs from the Col du Galibier and the Col du Télégraphe. Enquire about uplifts in the bikeshops in town.
Trail number 23 on the map was designed by, Mickaël Pascal, a French downhill legend and one of the most consistent World Cup racers of his day. True to character, this black trail drops 700 m in 3 km – it’s steep, fast and technical alpine singletrack. Big smiles and burning calves guaranteed.
