A Thrill-Seekers Guide
Each year, the resort of Alpe d’Huez hosts the SARENNE SNOWBIKE event which offers mountain bikers the chance to hurtle down a dream downhill track, the snow-covered Sarenne piste. Start at 3330 m at Le Pic Blanc and finish down in Huez town at 1460 m.
The descent is a whopping 16 kilometres long covering a massive 1870 m of vertical drop. It’s fast, it’s loose and thrills are guaranteed …as are wipeouts!
Celebrate at the bottom with a hot lunch put on by the organisers.
And, the excitement needn’t stop there. If you’ve still got some energy, hit the slopes for an afternoon’s skiing on Alpe d’Huez’s 250 km of pistes.
Please note: The SARENNE SNOWBIKE descent is a difficult run suitable only for advanced riders.
